Master's degree (Mono/Major) at the Department of Architectural History and Conservation (ÄK)

Requirements for writing a master thesis with Prof. Dr. Beate Fricke and the ÄK Department:

  • Regular participation and presentation of the master thesis project in the Research Colloquium ÄK are mandatory. To do so, please register with KSL. Regular participation means from the time of registration of the master's thesis until its submission. Interested students are also welcome to attend the research colloquium of the ÄK Department before registering their thesis.

Master's degree (Mono/Major) at the Department of Architectural History and Conservation (ÄK)

Requirements for writing a master thesis with Prof. Dr. Beate Fricke and the ÄK Department:

Master (Mono/Major) at the Department of Modern and Contemporary Art History (MG)

Requirements for admission to the master thesis with Prof. Dr. Peter J. Schneemann:

  • You will prepare three dossiers on three different topics and questions (for example a monographic question, a thematic approach, a genre-specific question, or a question on the history of museums and exhibitions). Each dossier (approx. 3 pages) contains your specific question, information on material, on possible sources and archives, on the method, plus a selection of literature. A possible timetable (travel, archive research etc.) and a reflection on a possible professional perspective (continuation in a dissertation; stay abroad; university; museum etc.) complete your documents.
  • As soon as you have prepared your three dossiers, arrange a consultation appointment (the appointments are coordinated by the secretariat, Ms Nadia Wipfli).
  • Participation in the Research Colloquium MG and the one-off presentation of the three dossiers are obligatory. To join the Research Colloquium, please register with KSL and Ilias.

Master's degree (Mono/Major) at the Department of Architectural History and Preservation (AD)

Requirements for writing a master thesis with Prof. Dr. Laura Hindelang and the AD Department:

  • Regular participation and presentation of the master thesis project in the Research Colloquium AD are mandatory. To do so, please register with KSL. Regular participation means from the time of registration of the master's thesis until its submission. Interested students are also welcome to attend the research colloquium of the AD Department before registering their thesis.

Master's degree (Mono) at the Department of the History of Textile Arts (TK)

Requirements for writing a master thesis with Prof. Dr. Corinne Mühlemann and the TK Department:

  • Regular participation and presentation of the master thesis project in the Research Colloquium TK are mandatory. To do so, please register with KSL. Regular participation means from the time of registration of the master's thesis until its submission. Interested students are also welcome to attend the research colloquium of the TK Department before registering their thesis.
